Household of three, we make probably five or six flat whites and cappuccinos on a busy morning. Currently on a Rancilio Silvia and the brew-then-wait-then-steam-then-purge dance is getting old when there’s a queue behind me. Looking hard at HX vs dual boiler, mainly Profitec and ECM. Part of me says an HX like a Pro 500 does everything I need for less, part of me wants the Synchronika and to be done forever. Do people who steam a lot actually notice the difference day to day, or is the HX cooling flush not a big deal once you learn it? Trying not to overspend but also not upgrade twice. What would you do?
